Massive forest fire spreads rapidly in El Bolsón, Argentina

On January 31, 2025, in El Bolsón, Argentina, @a.f.s.bolson shared a video of a massive forest fire. The footage shows the author spotting thick smoke in the distance before rushing to film the affected area. The fire has consumed 1,600 hectares in El Bolsón, Río Negro, forcing the evacuation of over 300 people, including tourists and volunteers. It began in the Andrapale area and quickly spread to Mallín del Medio and El Guadal. Firefighters, SPLIF brigades, and National Parks personnel are working to contain the flames. High temperatures and strong winds have complicated firefighting efforts.
