Eagle-owl waddles across a kitchen floor wrapped in a bath towel in Wentorf, Germany

On August 10, 2026, in Wentorf bei Hamburg, Germany, @flottelotte2020 shared a funny video of Horst, a rescued Eurasian eagle-owl, waddling across a kitchen floor while wrapped in a bath towel. In the video, the owl is bundled tightly in a blue-and-gray nautical-themed towel after being bathed to remove motor oil from its feathers. With its wings tucked inside the fabric, Horst walks with a stiff, upright waddle, resembling a little penguin. The owl then turns its head over its shoulder and looks directly at the author with its wide, bright orange eyes. According to the author, Horst was expected to return to the wild the following day. The author also joked that they talk to every animal, whether or not the animals understand, because they always seem to listen.
