Crying kitten helps lure mother cat out from under the hood of a parked car in Jiangsu, China

On October 29, 2026, in Jiangsu, China, @Lāsīdejiāngmǐgùn shared an amusing video of someone trying to coax an adult cat out of the engine compartment of a parked Honda. In the video, the adult cat has taken shelter inside the warm engine bay. A person holds a kitten close to the vehicle, and the kitten's loud cries prompt the adult cat to peek out. The person then takes the opportunity to reach in and retrieve the adult cat. According to the author, the adult cat had given birth to three kittens, and the crying kitten was used to get the mother's attention, jokingly describing the tactic as holding the kitten hostage to control the older cat. The author also emphasized that the kittens needed their mother for feeding and care.
