On May 2nd, 2024, footage captured by @luchodati in Gauíba, Brazil, showed severe flooding along the Guaíba River. The video depicted buildings submerged in water, with the caption "Guaíba rising extremely fast. Level already very similar to the last flood of 2023 and there is still a lot of water to arrive." This suggests the river is experiencing rapid water level rise, potentially reaching levels close to those seen in the major flood of 2023.
