On October 3, 2026, in Asunción, Paraguay, @camilabrto_ shared a video showing a severe hailstorm sweeping through the city. In the video, strong winds and torrential rain accompany a barrage of hailstones that rapidly cover roads, yards and green spaces in a thick layer of white ice. Hailstones can be seen striking balconies and the ground as the storm intensifies, creating a winter-like scene within minutes. According to reports, the storm produced exceptionally large hailstones measuring between 6 and 12 centimeters (2.5 to 4.7 inches) in diameter, with some chunks reaching the size of tennis balls. The storm also brought frequent lightning, torrential rain and wind gusts approaching 100 km/h (62 mph).
