Clever brown bear waves for treats at a zoo in Hebei, China

On October 2, 2026, in Hebei, China, @YaoYao,wholovestolaugh shared an amusing video of brown bears interacting with a visitor at a zoo. In the video, a boy stands on a raised walkway beside the glass safety barrier, holding an orange plate filled with pieces of fruit. One bear stands upright in the water and repeatedly waves its paw to get the visitor’s attention and beg for food. The visitor tosses a piece of fruit toward the bear, but it misses the first attempt before successfully catching the next two pieces. Inspired by the clever bear, another bear also stands on its hind legs and begins waving for treats, eventually receiving fruit as well. Meanwhile, several other bears watch the interaction from the background. According to the author, the clever bear knew how to get rewarded.
