On October 4, 2026, in Qingyuan, Guangdong, China, @lāoMei_ shared a video of two male lions resting at Qingyuan Chimelong International Tourist Resort. In the footage, the lions lie side by side in their rocky habitat, panting with their mouths open. The enclosure features tall grass, wooden platforms, and dense green vegetation. The lions appear lethargic, possibly due to the hot weather. During periods of extreme heat, large predators at zoos in Guangdong Province may become less active to conserve energy and pant to regulate their body temperature. Unlike humans, lions rely primarily on panting rather than sweating to cool down.
