Occurred: October 19, 2026 | Location: Real de Gandia, Spain | Category: Weather, News

On October 19, 2026, in Real de Gandia, Spain, @SrtaPompon shared a video showing the Serpis River swollen by torrential rainfall. In the video, turbulent, muddy brown water rushes through the river channel, filling the riverbed and spilling over its banks into surrounding low-lying areas. The white roof, chimney, and railing of a nearby residential building are visible in the lower-right corner, highlighting how close the rising floodwaters are to local properties. According to reports, the flooding was caused by Storm DANA Adam, which brought exceptionally heavy rainfall to eastern Spain. Precipitation exceeded 180 millimeters in Real de Gandia, with some neighboring areas of La Safor reportedly receiving more than 400 millimeters over 48 hours. The intense rainfall caused the Serpis and Vaca rivers to rise rapidly, prompting weather alerts, school closures, and emergency rescue operations as flooding threatened communities across the region.
