On October 26, 2026, in Requínoa, O'Higgins Region, Chile, @MikeSupertramp_ shared a video showing a powerful tornado moving through a residential neighborhood. In the video, a tall, narrow funnel filled with dust and debris churns beneath a dark, overcast sky, passing close to rooftops behind a white perimeter wall, black iron fencing, and thick green hedges. Overhead power lines cross the scene as the vortex moves dangerously close to nearby homes and infrastructure. According to reports, the Dirección Meteorológica de Chile preliminarily classified the tornado as an EF-2 event, with estimated wind speeds of 179 to 218 km/h (111 to 135 mph). The tornado damaged more than 70 properties, downed trees and utility poles, and tore the roof off a school gymnasium. Emergency authorities subsequently declared a Red Alert for the commune to support emergency response and cleanup operations.
