Portable toilet drifts through a flooded neighborhood after heavy rainfall in Palm Bay, USA

On November 2, 2026, in Palm Bay, Florida, USA, @jadie_mahlady shared a humorous video showing a portable toilet floating upright along a flooded residential street. In the video, the roadway is submerged beneath murky brown floodwater as the portable toilet drifts down the street with the current. Suburban homes with gray roofs and surrounding lawns are visible in the background beneath a heavily overcast sky. According to reports, the flooding followed days of persistent heavy rainfall across Florida's Space Coast. A slow-moving low-pressure system over the Florida Peninsula, combined with moisture-laden easterly winds from the Atlantic, brought repeated rounds of intense rain to the region. By November 2, parts of Brevard County had received more than 20 inches of rain, including approximately 20.6 inches near Palm Bay. A flash flood emergency was issued for Palm Bay and West Melbourne on the morning of November 2, warning residents of life-threatening flooding. The exceptional rainfall overwhelmed drainage systems, submerged residential streets, and prompted road closures and emergency water rescues.
